This is us

Edwin Singerling

What really energizes me is working with teams and finding practical ways to achieve progress together with these teams and individuals. This can be achieved via multiple ways: through results, the quality of service delivered, personal development, innovation, you name it.

Having worked with over 150 organizations, large and small, and from various sectors, is what made me realize this. As a consultant, interim manager and coach, I have seen what works but, maybe even more important, what doesn't work.

In my projects I am always fascinated by the collaboration between people in relation to the goal they work towards. For me, the way colleagues connect with each other is crucial for their achievements. Mutual trust, healthy ambition and growth are the essence.

In my projects I am driven by curiosity, I want to understand what is really going on. Making the recurring patterns visible and understanding the basis that allows people connect with each other.

To me, the basis of every change is understanding and respecting 'what is already there'. This is the starting point for all programs we design in the areas of leadership, team development and professional growth.

Collaborating with Herman at Dock-in has created a new dimension. Together we have developed Connect to Perform into an expertise. Both of us from our own authenticity and background.

Thorough and playful.

Our collaboration started 13 years ago with a request from Edwin to facilitate a workshop on 'non-verbal communication' in a leadership program. And that worked really well! From this small question, a collaboration grew that continues to develop every day. And I find this development important. It is a meaningful value to me: growing, learning new things. Playful and well thought through!

In the programs we deliver to our clients I also like to stimulate curiosity, get the real and sometimes difficult story on the table and by doing that, boosting collaboration. Preferably not just for the moment, but sustainable!

In all the programs that I have been able to create and facilitate in the past years, varying from 'Bouncing back after traumatic experiences', 'Dealing with difficult behavior' to Leadership programs or Team development, there is a common thread of building a connection. Building a connection with yourself, with what is important to you and building a connection with your environment, your colleagues, your organization, your stakeholders. When you are unable to connect with yourself, you are sailing without a direction, when you are unable to connect with the other, it is impossible to influence and you cannot perform.

For me, 'connect to perform' has become a guiding principle, just as it is a guiding principle in the work we do.

Listening to stories, creating stories, and telling stories - that's what brings me joy.

I discovered the power of stories through my father's tales when we used to stroll through the woods on vacation. A twisted tree became a troll's trap, and a hollow tree, a possible door to another world. Even now, as I walk through the woods, I see traces of trolls everywhere. And I'm not the only one. My brother, my sister, my nephews and nieces, they all see it too.

That's the magic of stories. They stay with you, change how you see things, and bring us together.

What I love most when working with Dock-in is witnessing the transformation in people from 'I'm not brave enough,' 'I have nothing to say', 'Am I doing it right?', to realizing that they too have stories to share. They take pride in how their story is told, and they discover that sharing and discussing it holds value for themselves, but especially for the people, colleagues, and teammates around them. At that moment, a beautiful video portrait feels like a gift.

Because stories reside in every person and every organization, big and small, thankfully, there are still plenty of gifts to give.

you

Because we work close together with you and the people within your organization, we like to get to know you. We offer a ‘no strings attached’ introductory meeting and a nice cup of coffee. We may even bring cookies. Or we can start small. Having a brief conversation over the phone can lead to interesting insights. When you leave your details, we will contact you as soon as possible.
